Competitions
GSPA is best known for its competitions, recognizing the top staffs and students in journalism each year.
Each spring, the annual General Excellence Critique Service and Competition allows members to send in their publications for a professional critique, and enter the General Excellence Competition. Individual entries in more than 40 categories are also judged and ranked. In addition, a journalist of the year and junior junior of the year is recognized, and several achievement awards are distributed for special accomplishments. The awards are distributed at the spring awards ceremony.
Keep track of important deadlines by looking at our calendar. The GSPA Director also provides deadline reminders in his weekly "From the GSPA Office" e-mails and in The Bulletin.
